June 10, 2013: Richmond, VA

Opening Match: Triple H vs. Curtis Axel (with Paul Heyman)

HHH starts unloading on Axel in the corner, then pops a suplex. Suddenly, “No Chance in Hell” music started playing, and Vince McMahon struts his way down. He gives the announcer instructions, and the bell rings. HHH has been disqualified.

The Game would have none of that. As COO, he orders the match restarted. McMahon returns and has the announcer tell the audience Axel has now won by forfeit.

What goes around comes around. HHH has the announcer say the match is now an Iron Man match with a one hour time limit. Vince returns again, tells Axel to leave, and takes the bell and announcer’s mike with him. With two more wins over HHH, Axel comes off smelling like a rose.

Match: Kane vs. Dean Ambrose

Kane starts off with the Big Boot, then follows with a dropkick to the face. The action spills out of the ring. Ambrose jumps off the ring steps and hits Kane’s fist with his face. After commercial break, Ambrose has the advantage. Ambrose tries a DDT off the top corner, but Kane reverses it and delivers a Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker, then a Sidewalk Slam for two. Kane then goes up top and delivers a lucha-style fist bomb. The Shield runs in for the DQ, but Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan make the save.

Match: The Miz vs. Cody Rhodes

Wade Barrett joins the announcers. Fandango won’t be involved in the triple threat match at Payback, allegedly because of a concussion. Rhodes works on Miz’s legs for most of the match, but suddenly Miz reverses into a Figure Four Leglock for the win. Paul Heyman comes out with the mike. He tells everyone that Vicki Guererro has decreed that Curtis Axel will be taking Fandango’s place in the match at Payback.

Match: Chris Jericho vs. Big E Langston (with Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee)

Big E starts off with his gorilla hands clamped on Jericho’s jaw. Jericho ducks a rebound and throws Big E out of the ring, then follows up with a dropkick. Jericho and Langston fight outside, then Big E connects him to the ring steps. Back in the ring, Big E works on Jericho and gets him in a couple of nearfalls. Jericho makes a comeback with roundhouse kicks to the head. He tries a cross-body but Langston catches him and gives him three backbreakers. Jericho retaliates with a Lateral Press. Ziggler distracts Jericho, allowing Big E to set him up for the Big Ending. However, Alberto Del Rio punks Ziggie from behind, distracting Big E and allowing Y2J to take him out with the Codebreaker.

Match: Sin Cara vs. Antonio Cesaro

Zeb Colter joins the announcers. As Cesaro dominates most of the match, Zeb bitches about foreigners. Despite Cara and Cesaro having a brilliant technical match, Zeb steals the show, rambling about how the government has tapped his phone and texted him to switch carriers. Sin Cara reverses a Cesaro gut-wrench suplex with a Hurricarana, then does about 15 flips to pin Cesaro’s shoulders for two. Zeb tells Cole he hopes the NSA is monitoring him, so they can see how he masquerades as a commentator. Cesaro gets Cara in a Neutralizer for the win.

Match: Randy Orton (with Daniel Bryan) vs. Roman Reigns (with Seth Rollins)

Orton starts off stomping on Reign’s hands and head. After missing a knee drop, Reigns retaliates and and stomps him back. Orton takes him down a Lou Thesz Press and clobbers him in the corner. Reigns knocks him out of the ring with a Superman Punch.

After a commercial break, Reigns has Orton in a front face-lock. Fake tweets roll across the bottom of the screen. Orton gets out with a shoulder suplex, then starts hearing voices in his head. Orton gives Reigns a Vintage DDT off the ropes. Rollins runs in, but Randy traps him and sets him up for Vintage. Reigns pulls his partner out, then Bryan springs off the ropes and dives on them both. The ref rules the match is a No Contest.

Match: Daniel Bryan (with Randy Orton) vs. Seth Rollins (with Roman Reigns)

Bryan reverses Rollins’ sorties with a corner flip and Yes-kicks the hell out of him. Bryan starts to set up Rollins in the Surfboard, then dropkicks him out of the ring. He delivers a flying knee, then throws Rollins back in. Rollins manages to throw Bryan’s face into the corner turnbuckle. He gets Bryan into a Surfboard himself, but Bryan counters it and wrenches Rollins into another Surfboard. He then cradles Rollins’s head and Rollins’s body takes a sick bend.

After commercial break, Rollins is back in charge. The fake tweets roll across the screen again. Bryan reverses a round-house kick into a Half Crab. God, these guys are the two best workers in WWE. Rollins makes it to the ropes. Bryan gives him a running Yes-kick, then follows it up with a running dropkick to the head. Rollins sneaks in a roundhouse to break Bryan’s momentum, then gives him a running power bomb to the turnbuckle for two. Rollins goes up top and leaps, but Bryan snares him in a rollup followed with a snap-mare suplex. Bryan goes up top, but Rollins foils his efforts and both go down in a crash. Reigns tries to interfere, but Orton trips him up. Bryan traps Rollins in a rollup for the win. MATCH OF THE NIGHT! Match of the year, even. I love these guys.

Promo: In the ring, Kaitlyn calls out her secret admirer. Big E Langston comes out with a bouquet of flowers. He gets on the mike and tells Kaitlyn she’s all he can think of. They look like they’re about to have a passionate kiss, but Big E throws her down instead and AJ Lee comes prancing to the ring. She takes the mike and tells Kaitlyn she was getting her back for not being there for her while she was getting dumped by all those guys. AJ goes all SWF on Kaitlyn until the latter finally snaps.

Match: Damian Sandow vs. R Truth

SILENCE! Sandow takes down Truth with a clothesline and tosses him out. He neckrolls him back in, then plants him with the Elbow of Disdain. Truth retaliates with clotheslines and a hurricarana, but Sandow reverses his next attack with the Silencer for the win.

Final Promo: John Cena and Ryback face each other while lumberjacks surround the ring. Brawls ensue, of course.
